27.09.2023

Voter frauds can be reported to the Ministry of Interior by dialing 02/90 112 98 and by e-mail izbori@mvr.bg. The phone service and the e-mail start operating on Friday, 29 September 2023 when the local election campaign starts officially, Prime Minister Acad. Nikolai Denkov announced before the opening of today’s cabinet sitting.

The Prime Minister appealed to citizens to blow whistles: “Let’s together this time stop any voter fraud. We count on you!” “It is the task of all institutions, the Council of Ministers included, to ensure a fair and transparent election process. To be successful, we need the cooperation the Bulgarian citizens,” the Prime Minister stated.

A unit that brings in one the efforts of the Ministry of Interior, the General Prosecutor’s Office and the State Agency for National Security has been set up. The national telephone number and the e-mail of the Ministry of Interior can be the channels of communication for whistle blowers about voter fraud in the local elections. All regional MoI directorates can be approached accordingly. “We will respond immediately and do what the prerogatives of the institutions allow to make sure that the election process is fair,” Acad. Nikolai Denkov assured.

A new element in these elections is the specialized application development – Geographic Information System “Election Processes”. The MoI offices will be able to upload data in real time. The exposure of the problem-ridden locations across the country will help take timely operating decisions about the optimal deployment of the police force so as to counteract effectively crimes against the citizens’ right to free vote.
