THE FIRST MEETING OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL TOOK PLACE AT THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV

The first meeting of the Security Council since the beginning of the term in office of the government took place under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at the Council of Ministers. The internal procedures for its meetings were adopted. A report for the work of the Council in 2016 was presented to the Prime Minister, as well as its Action Plan for the current year.

At the meeting, the attendees approved a draft for a Plan for the Implementation of the Strategy for Counteracting Radicalization and Terrorism in 2017. An yearly report was also approved on the state of national security in 2016, which will be reviewed at a session of the Council of Ministers and then by the National Assembly.

The Secretary of the Security Council presented a report on the received information, related to the possibilities for integrated management of the resources in the field of security and defence. This is one of the stages in the work in accordance with the opinions and suggestion made during the last meeting of the Consultative Council on National Security.
