THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS HAS SUBMITTED 17 DRAFT LAWS TO THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, 12 OF THEM ADOPTED BY FINAL DECISION

From its start of term until the end of the first session of the National Assembly, the government has submitted for consideration by the Parliament 17 draft laws. Of those 12 have been adopted by final decision, which adds up to more than a half of all legal acts adopted by the 44th National Assembly (19 in total).

 

Among the draft laws of the Council of Ministers approved by the deputies are the Law Amending the Law on the Budget of State Public Insurance for 2017, by which the minimum pension for years of employment and age is increased to 180 BGN from 1 July and to 200 BGN from 1 October; the ratification of the Framework Agreement for a Loan between the Development Bank of the Council of Europe and Bulgaria, which will support the absorption of finances from the European structural and investment funds during the current programming period; the Law Amending the Law on Defence and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Bulgaria, which introduces equal rights of men and women in the army concerning the use of maternity leave; the Law Amending and Completing the Tax-Insurance Code of Procedure, which introduces new measures in the fight against tax evasion, etc.

 

The remaining five draft laws are at different stages of consideration by the National Assembly. Those include the drafts for a law on state social benefits, the law ratifying the Memorandum for the Implementation of the Program for Trans-border Cooperation between Bulgaria and Serbia, the law amending and completing the Law on Local Taxes, the law amending and completing the Code on Social Insurance and the draft law for the ratification of the Agreement for Social Security between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Kingdom of Monaco.
