Prime Minister Stefan Yanev met the US Ambassador to Bulgaria H. E. Mrs. Herro Mustafa. Their discussion at the Council of Ministers focused on the strategic Bulgaria-US partnership and on the two countries’ aspiration to further its fruitful development. Recognition was given of the importance of regular contacts between Bulgaria and the United States in various formats and of the excellent top-level dialog.
Prime Minister Stefan Yanev and Ambassador Herro Mustafa discussed bilateral partnership in the fight against corruption and in the defense and security sector, as well as the potentials of Bulgaria-US business relations. Next, appreciation was expressed for the successful Bulgarian hosting of the Three Seas Initiative that enjoys the US consistent support.
In the course of the discussion Ambassador Herro Mustafa informed Prime Minister Stefan Yanev about the Virtual Summit for Democracy as planned by US President Biden to be convened this December. Prime Minister Yanev welcomed the initiative and expressed his expectation that the forum would make a positive contribution to issues of global importance.
