Prime Minister Stefan Yanev meets Romania’s Ambassador Brandusa Predescu

24.06.2021

Prime Minister Stefan Yanev met H. E. Mrs. Brandusa Predescu, Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Bulgaria, in his office. The Prime Minister and the Ambassador expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations that are built upon the principles of good neighborliness and shared European and Euro-Atlantic values. It was noted that it is in the interest of both countries to strengthen political dialog and to find opportunities for bilateral summits.

The Prime Minister and the Ambassador discussed prospects for further expansion of the Bulgaria-Romania transport connectivity across the Danube. The erection of a third bridge across the river will have a positive impact on the development of trade and economic relations and two-way travels between the two countries and, equally, on the economy in the region as a whole.

Prime Minister Stefan Yanev and Ambassador Brandusa Predescu outlined prospects for the promotion of relations in various areas of mutual interest. Emphasis was put on cooperation in energy-related matters and in the tourism sector, as well as on the need to increase investment bilaterally. In addition, opportunities were highlighted for better synergies in the economy and connectivity.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister and the Ambassador discussed measures to improve the city-to-city and people-to-people contacts at the level of local government. Good relevant examples should be given more visibility and encouragement.
