Bulgaria is an example of tolerance, mutual respect and understanding between religious communities and the activity of the Grand Mufti’s Office in the country makes an active contribution to that. This was stated by Prime Minister Rumen Radev at his meeting with the newly elected Grand Mufti of Moslems in Bulgaria Dr. Ahmed Hasanov.
The good interrelations are based on the sound foundations of traditional Islam and the shared values between Moslems and Christians who peacefully coexist in our country, Prime Minister Rumen Radev noted.
Dr. Ahmed Hasanov stated that under his direction the Grand Mufti’s Office will continue to play its role to promote these values and will continue to encourage young people towards respect and virtues.
The points discussed at the meeting included the conservation of cultural and historical monuments that are of great importance to Bulgarian society, the accreditation of the High Islamic Institute as a pillar of teaching the values of traditional Islam and the provision of spiritual support to young people in a situation of moral crisis.
