Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov joined the Eastern Flank Summit of EU Member States. He was welcomed in Helsinki by Finland’s Prime Minister Petteri Orpo.
At today’s forum, the leaders of Finland, Bulgaria, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Romania and Lithuania will discuss the security on the Eastern Flank of the EU and the need for coordinated action to strengthen its defense capability and long-term sustainability in the context of EU-NATO cooperation.
The leaders will discuss also the goals set out in the EU’s Defense Readiness Roadmap 2030 and in particular, the Eastern Flank Watch Initiative. Matters related to the upcoming European Council meeting in Brussels will also be a focus of the talks in Helsinki today.
