Prime Minister Kiril Petkov meets European Commissioner Oliver Várhelyi

Prime Minister Kiril Petkov had a meeting with Oliver Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement. The Prime Minister and the Commissioner discussed the situation around the war in Ukraine and its impacts on the countries in the region. Prime Minister  Kiril Petkov briefed Commissioner Oliver Várhelyi on the outcomes of the meeting of government leaders of NATO member states in South East Europe. The meeting took place earlier this week in Sofia, upon an initiative of the Bulgarian Prime Minister.

 

Also, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov and European Commissioner Oliver Várhelyi discussed bilateral talks with the Republic of North Macedonia. At these talks the Government upholds the Bulgarian positions and, for the time, receives solid support within the European Union in recognition of its new approach to Skopje, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov stressed.
