Prime Minister Galab Donev meets Croatia’s President Zoran Milanović

The shared interests of Bulgaria and Croatia as European partners and the benefits of the promotion of close friendly relations between the two countries were the focus of the meeting of Prime Minister Galab Donev with Croatia’s President Zoran Milanović.

 

President Milanović who is on an official visit to Sofia and Prime Minister Donev reiterated the interest of both countries to continue to build on the cooperation between them and to deepen their commercial and economic ties in the context of the substantial advantages as offered by their membership in the European Union. Prime Minister Galab Donev singled out as a positive sign the progress made in this area that resulted in a twofold increase of the trade over the last three years. Given this, in the Bulgarian Prime Minister’s view, it would be particularly beneficial to promote even closer contacts between the business communities of the two countries. Prime Minister Galab Donev specially emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and expressed his satisfaction with the agreement reached on the extended implementation of the Program for Cooperation in Education and Science.

 

At their meeting, Prime Minister Galab Donev and Croatia’s President Zoran Milanović noted the large-scale concurrence of the two countries’ foreign policy priorities. Prime Minister Galab Donev underlined the two countries’ responsibility for the maintenance of peace and stability in the region. “I am confident that Bulgaria and Croatia will continue to make a contribution to build a stronger European Union and to strengthen their close cooperation within the United Nations, NATO and other international and regional organizations,” Prime Minister Galab Donev concluded.
