PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV TALKED WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA MOON JAE-IN

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in. The two leaders discussed the current information on the distribution of COVID-19 and effective disease control measures. At the beginning of the conversation, it was noted that the two countries are working to put the coronavirus epidemic under control.

 

Korean President told Prime Minister Borissov that to help early detection of the virus and limit its spread, the Korean state has increased testing of its citizens with PCR reaction tests, including a kit to isolate and detect the RNA (ribonucleic acid) of the virus causing COVID -19. In this regard, Prime Minister Borisov has expressed the Bulgarian government’s interest to buy 30,000 PCR tests a month from the Republic of Korea. President Moon Jae-in has promised to check and to provide information as soon as possible for the quantities of tests and for when they can be sent to Bulgaria. "The Republic of Korea is ready to share its experience, in solidarity with friendly Bulgaria, both with the use of medicine and medical supplies and tests," President Moon Jae-in told Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

 

During the telephone conversation between the two, an emphasis was put on the fact that Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea are applying the same measures of physical isolation and distancing, as well as the same processes of prevention and treatment. Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and President Moon Jae-in shared the view that Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea have taken some of the most adequate measures to protect the health of their citizens and to cure the patients suffering from the new virus. "We would like to continue the excellent cooperation between our two countries, as this is the only way to successfully overcome the unprecedented challenge - the COVID-19 pandemic," Prime Minister Borissov said to the President of the Republic of Korea.
