PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV TALKED WITH THE GENERAL MANAGER OF THE BANK FOR INTERNATIONAL SETTLEMENTS

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov talked with Agustín Carstens, the General Manager of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).

During the meeting, which was also attended by Dimitar Radev, the governor of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), topical issues regarding global economic processes, prospects for the European economies and the international financial markets were discussed.

The General Manager of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Agustín Carstens is in Sofia because of the celebration of the 140th anniversary of BNB.

BIS, based in Basel, Switzerland, is established on 17 May 1930 and is the oldest international financial institution in the world. Sixty central banks are shareholders in BIS, and BNB is among the first shareholders in BIS from 1930.
