PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV TALKED WITH THE FRENCH PRESIDENT EMMANUEL MACRON

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov had a telephone conversation with the French President Emmanuel Macron. The two discussed the current information and measures needed for the situation in Syria and the migrant situation.

 

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov was certain that only with common efforts, diplomacy and timely steps can the events in the region be dealt with. "We have to solve this process consistently - the return of migrants, the hostilities in Syria and the humanitarian crisis. In this context, Turkey needs to be assisted so that it can take care of the refugees again," Prime Minister Borissov told President Macron.

 

During the conversation, it was noted that France is in solidarity with Greece and Bulgaria, and that it is ready to give its contribution and support in the efforts of Europeans to protect the borders. The French head of state told Prime Minister Borissov that in the current situation, measures must be taken quickly and together so to avoid a humanitarian and migration crisis.

 

The Bulgarian Prime Minister and the French President spoke hours before Borissov's meeting with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara, during which urgent measures for stability and peace in the region will be discussed.
