PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV TALKED WITH THE CROATIAN PRIME MINISTER ANDREJ PLENKOVIĆ

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov had a telephone conversation with the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. The two discussed the situation in Syria, the migrant situation, as well as the security of the EU's external borders in the context of the set priorities of the current Presidency of the Council of the EU.

 

In the course of the conversation, the Bulgarian Prime Minister noted that only through constant dialogue and common efforts can peace and security be achieved in the areas facing serious trials and hardships today.

 

Prime Minister Borissov underlined to his Croatian counterpart that, for many years Turkey has always been experiencing enormous hardships, because of the situation it is in. "Turkey is our neighbor, a NATO ally and our key partner in the areas of migration, security and counter-terrorism, and should not be left alone and not supported," Prime Minister Boyko Borissov noted before the Prime Minister of Croatia.

 

Borissov emphasized that diplomacy and peace should remain leading in solving problems in the region. "We all have an interest in building a future based on stability, security and prosperity," Borissov told Plenković.
