PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV TALKED WITH THE ABU DHABI CROWN PRINCE SHEIKH MOHAMMED BIN ZAYED AL NAHYAN

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov had a telephone conversation with Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, regarding the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The two discussed the excellent relations between the two countries, as well as the exchange of food and medical products, which took place yesterday. Last night, two planes were sent from Bulgaria to the UAE with 32 tons of food - vegetables, meat and dairy products, and in return we received 15 tons of medical supplies - masks, gloves, disinfectants and clothing, as well as food. Prime Minister Borissov and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed their gratitude for the assistance.


"In these difficult times, it is important for the countries around the world to support each other. With joint efforts and solidarity, we will be able to fight the coronavirus. It is gratifying that the business in both countries works in cooperation. Our top-level meetings are yielding results"; said Prime Minister Borissov. In recent years, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has visited the United Arab Emirates twice. These were the first such high-level visits in the history of the relations between the two countries. Since then, positive relations between the two states have been developed. At the end of last month, Borissov and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan agreed that Bulgaria and Abu Dhabi would invest in the construction of a racecourse for horse racing near Shumen. The two expressed their ambitions and intentions to continue working together in the future.
