PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV SPOKE WITH EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT PRESIDENT ANTONIO TAJANI

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov spoke with European Parliament President Antonio Tajani prior to presenting the results of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union at the Strasbourg plenary.


 
"The priorities set by the Bulgarian Presidency have been successful," said the President of the European Parliament. He thanked for the good cooperation during the Presidency. "We worked very well with you personally, your team ,and the ministers," Tajani told Prime Minister Borissov.


 
"As promised at the beginning of our Presidency we sought consensus among the states and institutions, even in the face of big controversies," the Prime Minister said. He expressed confidence that the development of the countries of the Western Balkans would remain among the EP's priority policies. "Our success is your success as well, because if we did not work together, it would not have been possible to achieve it," the Prime Minister stressed. He emphasized the importance of infrastructure, transport and digital connectivity projects, stating that this would be a guarantor of security and peace in the region, including in respect to migration.
