PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV SPOKE WITH EUROPEAN COMMISSIONERS DIMITRIS AVRAMOPOULOS AND VERA JOUROVA

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with the European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos and the European Commissioner for Justice Vera Jourova. The main subject of the conversation were the priorities for the Bulgarian Presidency in the field of justice and home affairs.

The issues discussed included the functioning of the new European prosecutor’s office, the security of the external borders, the asylum system, the Dublin Regulation package, and the measures for counteracting terrorism. During the meeting, the geopolitical situation in Europe was analyzed, whereby the two Commissioners highlighted the positive role of the Bulgarian Prime Minister for the peace and security in the countries of the Western Balkans.

Dimitris Avramopoulos and Vera Jourova were categorical that Bulgaria will be very successful in its Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
