Bulgarian business projects, in which Qatar is interested to invest, were discussed at a meeting of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov with a delegation from Qatar, led by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Thani, a member of the Emir family, and including representatives of Qatar Investment Authority. The meeting is in follow-up of the talks held by the Bulgarian Prime Minister with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in early March in Sofia.
The focus of the talks was on the potential for cooperation in the construction of infrastructure projects such as the tunnel under Shipka, the Black Sea highway, the industrial zone in Stara Zagora, the Sofia and Stara Zagora airports, and others. Another topic discussed was related to the investment opportunities presented by the country's wealth of mineral and spring waters and spa centers.
On the Bulgarian side, the ministers of regional development and public works Nikolay Nankov and the economy Emil Karanikolov, as well as the mayors of Burgas and Stara Zagora took part in the talks.
