Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with the Executive Director of the American Jewish Committee David Harris. The two talked in the framework of the Munich Security Conference.
Prime Minister Borissov emphasized the excellent relations of our country with the Jewish organizations in the USA, with which Bulgaria has a constant dialogue. "Our active cooperation with the American Jewish community has an important role to play in the development of both the Bulgarian-American relations as well as of the strategic partnership with the US, and in promoting the practical cooperation between Bulgaria and the State of Israel," Prime Minister Boyko Borissov told David Harris during the talks.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude towards the Jewish community for its contribution and support to Bulgaria in the years of the transition to democracy, in the process of joining NATO and the EU, and in the development of a bilateral dialogue with the US.
"Bulgaria counts on American Jewish organizations to continue to assist in promoting the potential for economic and trade cooperation with the US," Prime Minister Boyko Borissov pointed out. According to him, this would lead to an increase in American investments in various sectors of the Bulgarian economy.
Prime Minister Borissov emphasised that our country shares the efforts of the American Jewish Committee in countering anti-Semitism and extremism, as well as in protecting the rights and freedoms of all people.
