PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV MET WITH THE CEO OF A GLOBAL TOURIST COMPANY

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Minister Nikolina Angelkova held a business meeting with Peter Fankhauser, CEO of the Thomas Cook Group. The head of one of the world's leading travel leisure groups is on a visit to our country on invitation by Minister Angelkova.

 

„We are actively working to establish Bulgaria as a competitive and year-round tourist destination. We are making targeted efforts to present the country's uniqueness to the world – its rich cultural-historical heritage and remarkable nature", commented Prime Minister Borissov. He pointed out that the objective is to develop not only the traditional sea and winter tourism but also to utilize the potential of the spa and medical spa resorts, of cultural and hunting tourism. Borissov emphasized that the government is actively encouraging the business to market high-quality tourist products and services. „Thanks to that, Bulgaria is establishing itself as a recognizable and in-demand destination for tourists from all over the world", added the Prime Minister.

 

The two agreed on the idea that the Bulgarian government's policy could correspond to the intentions of the Thomas Cook Group concerning investments in high-class hotels for the purpose of attracting high-end tourists.
