PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV MET WITH ABU DHABI CROWN PRINCE SHEIKH MOHAMMED BIN ZAYED AL NAHYAN IN EGYPT

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with the heir of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The talks between the two leaders took place during the official opening ceremony of the new Egyptian Berenice naval base on the coast of the Red Sea.             

 

During the meeting, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan agreed that the dynamics of the bilateral cooperation should be maintained and concrete preconditions for an even more active partnership should be created. Future options for developing the relations in sectors such as energy, agriculture, tourism, innovation and high technology were discussed. The Bulgarian Prime Minister expressed confidence that the dialogue between Bulgaria and the UAE will continue to be constructive and will produce good results. Prime Minister Borissov noted that Bulgaria's participation in the World Universal Exhibition EXPO 2020 in Dubai will contribute to the economic growth of the relations between the two countries to an even higher level.

 

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also noted the good cooperation in the interior sectors, the fight against organized crime and terrorism, combating drug trafficking, cybercrime. According to Prime Minister Borissov, the two countries can exchange valuable experience regarding stability and security. "Following our last talks in October 2018, political developments in the world and in the region confirm the importance of exchanging specialized experience and information in order to counteract all the risks and threats posed by radical and extremist organizations and ideologies," the Bulgarian Prime Minister said.
