Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and the Serbian President Alexander Vučić had a telephone conversation, in which they discussed questions regarding the four-dimensional format between Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, and Serbia, and the projects for energy security and connectivity.

“I want to express my gratitude for the letter in support of the European perspective of Serbia, which you have sent together with the colleagues from the meeting of the four-dimensional format to the Chancellor of Germany and the President of France,” said President Vučić. He emphasized that the format of cooperation between Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, and Serbia is important for the development of the economy, connectivity, and good neighborly relations.

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov welcomed Serbia’s efforts on its way to the EU and defined the realization of the connectivity of transport, infrastructure and energy as key elements of the development of the region.

President Vučić informed the Bulgarian prime minister about the completion of the construction works on the southern part of Corridor X, and announced that the last section of the highway through the Grdelica gorge will be open for traffic on Saturday.

Boyko Borissov and Vučić discussed the possibilities for diversification of the gas supplies through the Balkan Gas hub project, which will combine gas from several sources of supply. “The realization of the interconnector projects between Bulgaria and Serbia and the expansion of the gas supply system from the Turkish-Bulgarian border to the Bulgarian-Serbian border is of key significance. This will guarantee the energy security of our states,” said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
