PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV CONGRATULATED EDI RAMA ON THE ADOPTION OF THE LAW ON MINORITIES

16.10.2017

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov congratulated in a phone conversation his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama on the adoption of the Law on Minorities and thanked him for this European step. According to Borissov, giving a guarantee for the rights of the Bulgarian minority will provide for a stronger impetus of the European integration of Albania, because it demonstrates a European manner of policy-making. “The Bulgarian and the Albanian peoples have a long history of friendship, common life, and mutual support. With the adoption of this law we will further deepen the traditionally good relations between our two countries,” pointed out Boyko Borissov.

Edi Rama thanked the Bulgarian Prime Minister for the support and said that he considers the adopted Law on Minorities as a matter of duty and will put maximum efforts into a rapid progress on the European path of Albania.

Edi Rama accepted the invitation to make an official visit to Sofia at the end of the year.
