PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV CONDUCTED A PHONE CONVERSATION WITH HIS ROMANIAN COUNTERPART MIHAI TUDOSE

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov conducted a phone conversation with his Romanian counterpart Mihai Tudose and congratulated him on his appointment.

The two expressed confidence that they will continue to work together for the realization of projects of mutual interest. Among the highlights of the conversation was the issue of the border check-point at Kajnardzha – Lipnitsa, which is available as infrastructure but does not function. The Romanian Prime Minister Mihai Tudose made a commitment to undertake the necessary inquiries and solve the problem.

Borissov and Tudose also discussed the opportunities for cooperation between Bulgaria and Romania on the Danube and Black Sea strategies, which are among the highlights of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The two Prime Ministers agreed that a common government session of Bulgaria and Romania will be held in September. The Prime Minister informed Mihai Tudose about the results of the Berlin process in Trieste and his visit to Thessaloniki where he held meetings with the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and the President of Serbia Alexander Vucic.
