20.01.2020

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov arrived in Switzerland to participate in the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos. This is the 50th Annual Meeting of the Forum, which over time has become an effective and influential tool of the world economy and politics, a place for negotiations and meetings and for reaching various agreements.

The theme of this year's Davos Summit is "Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World", with discussions on seven main focuses: "How to Save the Planet", "Tech for Good", "Healthy Futures", "Fairer Economies" , "Society and Future of Work," "Better Business," and "Beyond Geopolitics."

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov's participation in the Davos forum is an oppurtunity for him to reaffirm his position regarding the importance of dialogue and joint efforts to address the growing global challenges. In the context of the discussion on the economic development of Central and Eastern Europe, the Prime Minister will address the topic of the European Green Deal proposed by the European Commission and the fight against climate change.

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov’s attention will also turn to the European perspective of the Western Balkans and the development of this strategically important EU region. As a co-chair of the Berlin Process, this year Bulgaria will continue to advocate for the EU integration process of the Western Balkans, as it is an instrument for achieving stability, peace and prosperity in the region.
