PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV AND THE BRITISH PRIME MINISTER THERESA MAY DISCUSSED THE MIGRANT CRISIS AND BREXIT

Bulgaria and the United Kingdom will continue their good cooperation for guaranteeing security in Europe, the management of migration flows, and the fight against terrorism, Prime Ministers Boyko Borissov and Theresa May were categorical during their meeting in Brussels before the start of the European Council.

 

The British Prime Minister Theresa May pointed out that she is well informed about the efforts of our country for protection of the border of the European Union and welcomes what has been achieved by the government.

 

Among the foci of the conversation was the topic for the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU. “Our countries have excellent bilateral relations that have proved their significance in time and the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU will not harm our cooperation and friendship,” highlighted Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

 

Prime Minister Borissov pointed out that a strong role for the relations between the two countries has the large Bulgarian diaspora in the United Kingdom. “Those are highly qualified experts that produce a considerable added value for the British economy. For us it is important that in the negotiations between Brussels and London legal certainty be guaranteed for the citizens and this is a leading priority,” said Borissov.

 

The British Prime Minister Theresa May invited Borissov to visit the United Kingdom.
