PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV AND PRESIDENT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA ZORAN ZAEV SPEAK OVER THE TELEPHONE

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov spoke over the telephone with Zoran Zaev, President of the Government of North Macedonia. Prime Minister Borissov congratulated his counterpart on the election victory, wished him success in the present responsible position and expressed confidence that constructive cooperation at top level will continue in the future.

 

The two prime ministers’ dialogue focused on the Berlin Process and the organization of the Sofia Summit within the initiative as scheduled to take place in November. Prime Minister Borissov pointed out the great responsibility that Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia have as co-chairmen of the Berlin Process this year. The Prime Minister underscored that notwithstanding the pandemic, Bulgaria continues to work in support of the countries of the Western Balkans and their European perspective.

 

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov stated that Bulgaria continues to be consistent in its support for the European future of the Republic of North Macedonia and expressed confidence that the two countries will remain committed to the implementation of the Agreement on Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation signed in 2017.

 

Further Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and President of the Government Zoran Zaev discussed the cooperation between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the sharing  of Bulgarian experience in the successful reformation of a number of industries so as to ensure the manufacture of protective gear.
