Prime Minister Boyko Borissov had a telephone conversation with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz. The two discussed current information on the situation in Syria and the migrant situation.
The Bulgarian Prime Minister was certain that only through joint efforts and diplomacy could the crisis in the region be overcome. Borissov emphasised before Kurz that Turkey should be urgently supported in order to avoid a humanitarian crisis and improve the situation. But the European community must respond quickly, as neither Turkey nor any country can handle such events on its own, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov noted.
The two government leaders discussed the most urgent measures to help calm the situation in the region. "We are in favor of implementing a common European approach to migration management, to achieve balance between solidarity and responsibility is key," Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said in his conversation with Kurz.
