“We condemn the use of disproportionate force against Navalny, against his wife and against protesters in Russia,” said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. The Prime Minister commented the matter during a working meeting in the Council of Ministers of Cabinet members and members of the National Operational Headquarters. Mr. Borissov stressed that the day before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released the Cabinet’s position, condemning once again the violent detention of peacefully protesting supporters of Alexey Navalny. The position as communicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states, inter alia, that the use of disproportionate force defies the commitments made by the Russian Federation to respect human rights.
