We are in excellent relations with all countries from the Caspian region, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov told Bulgarian media outlets in Avaza. There are huge business opportunities in the region, but peace is also extremely important, added the Bulgarian Prime Minister. He described the fact that the Caspian region is coming together at an economic forum in Turkmenistan as great progress.

Prime Minister Borissov put an emphasis on the topic of energy. I have always worked on the basis of mutual interest, and the interest is to look for more markets and sell more gas, said the Prime Minister and added – I see the opportunity to present our gas hub, as in the West we are the first that Turkmenistan can have. Borissov drew attention to the large quantities of gas available to the country. More than 5 billion cubic meters go to Russia from here, they have three huge pipes and gas can be distributed to our Balkan gas hub, so we have the diversification demanded by the Third Liberalization Package, said the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Borissov noted that after his first meeting with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, there already are Bulgarian companies executing orders in Turkmenistan. The Prime Minister pointed out that Turkmenistan has production, that our economy needs and in the same time the host is interested in our industrial zones and high-quality technologies. They have great interest in our mechanical engineering, underlined Borissov. He added that an agreement has been reached with the President of Turkmenistan to organize a meeting between ministers from both countries in order for them to visit places, where there is high added value, so that new agreements can be signed at the beginning of next year.

An agreement was also reached for both countries to provide each other with one office in Sofia and in Ashgabat in order to facilitate the relations between Bulgaria and Turkmenistan. With this office we will also guarantee the business to be encouraged that there will be support, added Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
