Prime Minister Boyko Borissov expressed most cordial congratulations on the convincing election victory of the Christian Democratic Union in a letter to the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel. “The results of these elections were of critical importance for the future of united Europe and the support received by the majority of the voters is the biggest recognition for your policy that for already 12 consecutive years is directed towards the wellbeing of the German people and the building of a strong and prosperous Europe,” points out the Prime Minister. He underlines that as the leader of the strongest political party in Germany Ms Merkel can continue in the future to rely on Bulgaria as a friend and strategic partner in the EU and NATO.
“I particularly appreciate your personal commitment to the development of the Bulgarian-German relations and the valuable support of Germany for Bulgaria within the EU, especially in the context of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU. I believe that the close Bulgarian-German partnership, based on trust, deep historical links, and shared values will continue to acquire even more dynamic dimensions to the interest of our countries, as well as in contribution to dealing with the global challenges,” says Borissov and wishes health and future successes to Angela Merkel in her responsible mission.
