PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV: THE DEVELOPMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS BETWEEN BULGARIA AND SERBIA WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE CONNECTIVITY OF THE ENTIRE REGION

The development of infrastructure projects between Bulgaria and Serbia will contribute to the connectivity of the entire region. This was said by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at a meeting with the Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic. She is in Bulgaria on occasion of the working meeting among the Western Balkan countries’ leaders.

 

During the meeting, the two Prime Ministers gave priority to the agreed construction of the gas transport connection between Bulgaria and Serbia. They also expressed appreciation for the progress on projects of mutual interest, such as the construction of the Nis - Sofia highway and the electrification of the railway between Nis and the Bulgarian border. The economic benefit from the implementation of the projects for the modernization of the Zhelezni Vrata gateways and the Sava River port of Brcko will be of immense importance not only for the two countries, but also for the citizens and the business throughout Europe. Borissov and Brnabic expressed appreciation for the high-level bilateral cooperation, whereby the Bulgarian Prime Minister stressed that only two days later a Memorandum between the two countries will be signed on the reduction of roaming tariffs.

 

During the meeting, the Bulgarian Prime Minister also said that our country will continue to support Serbia's EU integration progress during the upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU.
