PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV: THE ADMINISTRATION SHOULD SAVE CITIZENS’ TIME AND FACILITATE THE BUSINESS

16.06.2017

Each of us should put a huge pressure on the administration, which in some respects does a wonderful job, but in others is not up to date with the time we live in. 26 million hours are wasted in issuing certificates in the state, this is a waste of time and does not save citizens’ time. With these words Prime Minister Boyko Borissov turned to the representatives of the local authorities and the institutions during the working meeting he called on decreasing the administrative burden. The Prime Minister noted the need to implement the identified measures within concrete deadlines. He especially put a focus on the procedure for issuing criminal record certificates. According to him, it can be done away with, because there is the possibility to check this information, given an open registrar.

“Tens of regimes in the next few months can be dropped,” said Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Dontchev and those can be substituted with intra-institutional electronic inquiries. According to him, in a few weeks it is possible to drop the criminal record certificate but instead have internal inquiries. Dontchev noted the need to settle the issue with the paper certificate for lack of debt in relation to the Law on Public Procurement. “There are tens of other occasions of regimes that are unnecessary. On the other hand, for identical services, the documents required by different municipalities vary,” added the Deputy Prime Minister. He also underlined the need to facilitate the citizens and not require that they visit the Control of Auto Transport agency when purchasing a used car but have the data directly transmitted among the relevant agencies. “Will and pressure are needed,” said in conclusion the Deputy Prime Minister in respect to decreasing the administrative burden.
