Security of the external borders is directly related to the general level of security of the European Union, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said during a telephone conversation with the President of the European Council Charles Michel. Prime Minister Borissov emphasized that border protection is one of the main priorities of Bulgaria and our country strictly fulfills its commitments in this direction. The Bulgarian Prime Minister highlighted the cooperation with our Turkish partners, which bear a heavy burden regarding the issue with the migrants.
Prime Minister Boyko Borissov noted that Turkey is in a difficult situation and it is good that this country, as well as the whole region, feel the support of the EU. The Prime Minister pointed out that Bulgaria is in favor of implementing a common European approach to migration management. In the Prime Minister's words, a stable balance between solidarity and responsibility is key.
