PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV SPOKE WITH THE TURKISH MINISTER OF CUSTOMS AND TRADE BÜLENT TÜFENKCI

The excellent neighborly relations between Bulgaria and Turkey are a prerequisite for strengthening the economic cooperation to the interest of the two states. This was pointed out by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov during his conversation at the Council of Ministers with the Minister of Customs and Trade of the Republic of Turkey Bülent Tüfenkci.

 

The Prime Minister underlined the considerable increase in the trade volume since the beginning of the year. According to him, this points to a potential that can be further developed. Borissov paid attention also to the volume of Turkish investments in Bulgaria, amounting to 24.5 million euro for the first three months of 2017 and highlighted the cabinet’s efforts to improve the business conditions in Bulgaria.

 

During the meeting, the cooperation between the customs agencies of Bulgaria and Turkey was also discussed, as well as the importance of the timely exchange of information in this field. Prime Minister Boyko Borissov stressed on the measures that our country takes in counteracting smuggling and guarding the borders.
