PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV SPOKE WITH PRIME MINISTER ZORAN ZAEV ON STEPPING UP THE WORK ON TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov spoke with Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev about stepping up the work on building transport infrastructure in the Balkans. Borissov pointed out that at the meetings he held in Strasbourg, he raised the issue of connectivity as a first step towards the integration of the countries from the region, that can be undertaken while those prepare for membership.

 

The Bulgarian Prime Minister said he emphasized the importance of Corridor 8 for the whole continent and the need to support financially the countries that cannot use EU funds.

 

Boyko Borissov also pointed out that he has instructed the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications to personally oversee the implementation of the Sofia-Skopje railway project - a project whose importance was highlighted by many residents of Strumica during the joint meeting of the governments of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia.
