PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV PRESENTED THE PRIORITIES ON THE CONNECTIVITY OF THE WESTERN BALKANS AT A MEETING WITH KRISTALINA GEORGIEVA

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov presented the priority projects for the connectivity of the Western Balkan countries during a meeting with the World Bank Chief Executive Officer Kristalina Georgieva. The Prime Minister said that the construction of the major transport, energy, and digital projects in the region requires financial assistance. Boyko Borissov added that the realization of all planned connectivity projects will further stimulate the business and the tourism in the countries of the region.

 

During the conversation, Kristalina Georgieva said that the Bulgarian Prime Minister's initiative on the connectivity of the countries from the Western Balkans is highly appreciated by all leaders. “All politicians in the region agree on the benefits of your initiative and promise to provide everything needed on their territory,” Georgieva said during the meeting at the Council of Ministers. “We will continue to work actively for the construction of roads and checkpoints so that the citizens can travel easily from one country to the other," Prime Minister Borissov clarified. During the conversation, it was highlighted that this is a key factor for stimulating the investments in this part of Europe and improving relations with neighboring EU Member States.
