PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV MET WITH THE SWEDISH PRIME MINISTER STEFAN LÖFVEN

Topics from the European agenda were among the highlights during the meeting of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden Stefan Löfven in Brussels. The two held talks within the framework of the European Council meeting, which is currently taking place in the Belgian capital. Prime Minister Borissov paid special attention to the upcoming Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2018. He underlined that the government is seriously committed to the preparation of its successful conduction, so as the Bulgarian Presidency will also be beneficial to the European family.

 

The possibilities for deepening the bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Sweden were discussed. Prime Minister Borissov informed his counterpart about the main priorities, on which the government will work during its four-year term in office. The Prime Minister pointed out the efforts of our country to enter the waiting room for the Eurozone and for joining Schengen. During the conversation, the migration crisis was discussed, as well as the situation on the Balkans, and questions related to the security in Europe and the fight against terrorism.
