PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV MET WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE REPUBLIC OF CYPRUS DEMETRIS SYLLOURIS

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with the President of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Syllouris. During their conversation in the Council of Ministers, both of them gave high assessment to the Bulgarian-Cypriot relations, which are steadily developing in a spirit of friendship and cooperation since their establishment until now.

 

According to Prime Minister Borissov the political dialogue between Bulgaria and Cyprus is especially useful, because it motivates active work in all areas of shared interest. The Bulgarian Prime Minister expressed his hope, that from now on the range of visits of different ministers between the two sates will expand further. Borissov underlined the potential of the bilateral agreements signed in recent years in the areas of agriculture, tourism, culture, eduction and science, and shipping.

 

The Republic of Cyprus is an important partner of Bulgaria in trade and economy, also said Prime Minister Borissov and noted that during recent years there has been a stable growth of bilateral trade. According to him, opportunities should be sought in order to increase trade, including joint entry into third markets. Prime Minister Boyko Borissov also pointed out that being a member of the European Union will be a solid base for the development of the partnership between Bulgaria and Cyprus.
