PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV IN MUNICH: DIPLOMACY IS THE WAY TO TACKLE MILITARY CONFLICTS, TERRORISM AND ILLEGAL MIGRATION

14.02.2020

"The Bavarian Prime Minister, our other colleagues and I will discuss what to do in regards to the Western Balkans, as well as how Bulgaria has handled illegal migration, and how we capture record quantities of drugs along our border." This is what Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said during the welcoming ceremony at the Munich Airport from the team from the YouTube channel of the Munich Security Conference.

Last year's channel on the internet provided comprehensive information about the forum, including behind the scenes information from the event. It reaches millions of viewers worldwide through the forum members' social media profiles.

"The West - I would call Europe, the United States, Canada, should be more actively involved in many military conflicts through diplomatic means to negotiate peace - in Libya, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, wherever there is a problem," noted Prime Minister Borissov for the viewers of the YouTube channel of the Munich Security Conference.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister was certain that terrorism, illegal migration and now the coronavirus are causing a major panic in the world. He added, however, that diplomacy and peace are the way to deal with all these challenges.

"Bulgaria is very close to the Black Sea, Syria and Libya, Iran. We have a contingent in Afghanistan -  because of the events in Bosnia and Herzegovina we have troops there too. There is a lot of work to be done,” Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said. He added that he will take part in a meeting with the Minister-President of the Free State of Bavaria, Markus Söder. "Him and I are friends, Bulgaria and Bavaria are fraternal nations," Prime Minister Boyko Borissov noted.
