PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV HAD A PHONE CONVERSATION WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN COUNCIL DONALD TUSK

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov had a phone conversation with the President of the European Council Donald Tusk. In follow-up to the debates from the summit of heads of state and government in Tallinn, the two discussed topics related to the future processes and reforms in the EU and in particular the so-called Leaders’ Agenda for 2017/2018.

Tusk informed the Bulgarian Prime Minister about the progress in the preparation of the Agenda, on which he foresees consultations with the European leaders. The aim of the summits is to attain more effectiveness and better coordination.

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and the President of the European Council also discussed the upcoming Summit on the Western Balkans in Sofia in May within the framework of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU next year, whereby the two will be co-hosts. The activities in preparation of the event were coordinated, as well as the process for determining a suitable date for the forum together with the other member states.
