PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV: CONNECTIVITY AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT IN THE WESTERN BALKAN COUNTRIES ARE DECISIVE FOR THEIR INTEGRATION

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov had a phone conversation with the Serbian President Aleksndar Vucic. The two discussed the progress in the preparation for the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2018. The focus was put on the topics of connectivity, infrastructure, and the improvement of the business and investment environment in the countries of the region.

 

“Bulgaria considers the active communication and cooperation among the countries from the Western Balkans and the European Union of great importance and puts efforts into placing the region in the focus of attention,” highlighted the Prime Minister.

 

Boyko Borissov and Aleksandar Vucic also discussed the upcoming meeting in Sofia of the Prime Minister with the leaders of the Western Balkan countries, in parallel with a World Bank conference on regional cooperation. The topics of the next round of meetings of the quadrilateral format Bulgaria-Greece-Romania-Serbia, which will take place in Belgrde in December, were also discussed. The first meeting of this kind was held in Varna in the beginning of October on initiative by the Bulgarian Prime Minister.
