01.06.2017

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov congratulated Zoran Zaev on his election for Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia. The two had a phone call, whereby the Macedonian President George Ivanov also took part.

“My personal meetings with you, Mr. Zaev give me reasons to believe that together we can work for strengthening the good neighborly relations between our two countries and for bringing the Republic of Macedonia closer to the negotiations for accession to the European Union,” noted Prime Minister Borissov. He stressed that the election of the new Macedonian government is a long-awaited step in overcoming the political crisis in the country.

Prime Minister Borissov welcomed the determination both of President Ivanov and of the new Prime Minister Zaev for starting the necessary reforms in the country and wished success in their implementation. “This step will give a European perspective to the Republic of Macedonia,” said Borissov during the phone call with Zoran Zaev and George Ivanov.
