It is a great recognition for our country that the 29th Congress of the World Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons is being held in Bulgaria, said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at the opening of the forum in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia. The Prime Minister congratulated the experts from more than 40 countries participating in the congress.

Prime Minister Borissov put an emphasis on the significant financial resources allocated by the Bulgarian government for healthcare. "We invested a lot in education, qualifications, scholarships for young scientists," Borissov pointed out. The Prime Minister also emphasized the active work on the renovation of the facilities and medical equipment. "Fortunately, there is someone to use the machines in the face of the wonderful, very well-trained Bulgarian surgeons, their teams of nurses, doctors, and orderlies," the Prime Minister added.

Prime Minister Borissov expressed his gratitude for the professionalism of doctors who save lives and help their patients to return quickly to their families and to work. "This is also important so we can keep the high GDP growth that Bulgaria produces," the Prime Minister said in conclusion.
