PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV: BULGARIA IS WORKING AT FULL SPEED FOR THE REALIZATION OF THE EUROPE MOTORWAY AND THE BALKAN STREAM

It was extremely nice to see how fast and how well our Bulgarian friends work. Serbia loves Bulgaria and is thankful for everything that Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has organizing today. This is what the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, who, together with the Bulgarian Prime Minister inspected the construction of the Europe Motorway and the Balkan Stream, at the invitation of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. Vučić described both projects as extremely essential and of equal importance to Bulgaria and Serbia. According to him, "Balkan Stream" means economic growth, industrial growth, which will be providing an important energy source for both economies. With regard to the highway, he expressed the expectation that it would be completed soon and that it would be possible to travel between Sofia and Belgrade in just three hours. Vučić added that he hopes the interconnector in the Nis area will be constructed soon. President Vučić especially thanked Prime Minister Borissov for his exceptional support for Serbia on its European path and reminded that it is no coincidence that the Bulgarian Prime Minister is the holder of the highest state award of Serbia, the Order of the Republic of Serbia.

For his part, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov pointed out that Bulgaria is working at full speed for the implementation of the two projects and generations will benefit from what is currently being built. "Despite the coronavirus, no matter how difficult it was, the work has not stopped on the Europe motorway and Balkan Stream," the Prime Minister said. According to him, the construction of the Greek connection is also serious. Borissov pointed out that the goal is to diversify the entire region and provide an opportunity to bring gas from various sources so that the pipes can be filled as soon as they are ready. Prime Minister Borissov pointed out that the construction of the "Balkan Stream" is carried out honestly, and with the help of the European Commission, while observing all the requirements of the third liberalization package.

"Symbolically, we are lifting the quarantine, setting an example for Bulgarians and Serbs - to start working, resting and having fun together. I hope this symbolism will help us forget COVID-19 ", said the Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. The Prime Minister reminded that the pandemic had caused huge damage to the economy and finances of the whole world and that many people had died, but expressed hope that we would be able to return to normal life as soon as possible.
