PRIME MINISTER BORISSOV ARRIVED IN MUNICH TO ATTEND THE SECURITY CONFERENCE

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov arrived in Munich to attend the traditional Security Conference in the German city.

 

At the airport, Bulgarian Prime Minister Borissov was greeted by the conference’s YouTube channel team, which provides comprehensive information on the participation of European and world leaders in the event. The Munich Conference and the YouTube channel introduced this format last year so to reach the young audience globally. One of the goals of the project is to show viewers what's happening behind the scenes at the world foreign policy and security forum. Participants in this format have included NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and former IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde. The channel has nearly 3 million views of the created videos and has reached a wide audience through the social media channels of the conference participants.

 

Founded in 1963, the Munich Security Conference welcomes hundreds of high-level officials and dozens of world leaders each year to discuss global challenges. The purpose of the event is to build confidence and contribute to the peaceful resolution of conflicts through informal dialogue in the framework of the international community, relevant to the security. In recent years, the conference has established itself as the world's leading forum for discussing international security. 

 

This year, the world forum brings together nearly 500 leaders who will focus on the new security challenges. In various formats, they will discuss expanding defense cooperation and the liberal international order.

 

Today and tomorrow, during the conference, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov will participate in discussions on important international topics and take part in a number of bilateral meetings.
