PRIME MINISTER BOIKO BORISSOV AND MINISTER PRESIDENT MARKUS SÖDER DISCUSSED THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE POTENTIAL FOR COOPERATION BETWEEN BULGARIA AND BAVARIA

"Only we have dealt with the illegal migration, the lowest unemployment, 3.7% constant GDP growth, 10% income raise every year, many German investors. We have a fiscal reserve, a foreign exchange reserve, a stable EUR-BGN exchange rate, we are second after the US in defense investments." This is what Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said at the beginning of his meeting with the Minister President Markus Söder during the Munich Security Conference.

 

"I can say that the only one who always remains in his post as Prime Minister, no matter what happens, is Borissov. Everybody in Europe is being replaced, but one remains, " Minister President Markus Söder told the Bulgarian Prime Minister.

 

During the meeting, Prime Minister Borissov and Minister President Söder discussed details about the initiated by them meeting between the Bavarian and Bulgarian businesses in Sofia, which would give an additional stimulus for developing bilateral economic ties. Prime Minister Boyko Borissov put an emphasis on the importance of the confidence of the Bavarian business for trade and investment in our country and noted that Bulgaria will continue to make efforts in this direction. The Prime Minister of Bulgaria and the Minister President of Bavaria agreed that there is potential for developing bilateral ties in innovative high value-added industries and technological progress.

 

The two heads of government also expressed satisfaction with the intense political contacts in recent years, as well as with the dynamic ties in the fields of home affairs, security and tourism. Borissov and Söder discussed the current EU migration policy. "Bulgaria fully controls the migration flow situation and continues to maintain a high level of security at the EU's external border. Border security remains a priority for us,” Bulgarian Prime Minister Borissov said.
