MACEDONIA EXPERTS TO COME TO BULGARIA FOR AN EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCE IN EU FUNDS MANAGEMENT

23.11.2017

Bulgaria will host a number of work meetings with representatives of the administration of the Republic of Macedonia and will provide expert support on issues related to the accession of Macedonia to the European Union and the activities resulting thereof in planning, management, and control of investments with European funding. This was agreed by the Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev and the Macedonian Minister of European Affairs Byar Osmani.

The first representatives of the administration of the Republic of Macedonia are expected to come on a work visit to Sofia in December. Their program will include meetings with the team of the Central Coordination Unit for EU Funds Management with the Council of Minister and experts from the ministries of finance, agriculture and food, economy, labor and social policy, and regional development and public works.

The idea for the mechanism for cooperation at expert level emerged as early as June during the official visit by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia and his delegation to Bulgaria. The initiative is to be made official by ordinance of the Prime Minister Borissov.

The meeting of the two deputy prime ministers took place in the framework of the joint session of the governments of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia in the city of Strumitsa.
