LILYANA PAVLOVA: THE BULGARIAN PRESIDENCY OF THE COUNCIL OF THE EU IS A NON-PARTISAN ISSUE. I BELIEVE WE WILL WORK IN DIALOGUE AND UNITY ON IT

04.05.2017

I am glad that I take over this important and responsible position, the topics related with it are non-partisan and it is important for Bulgaria to do well during the forthcoming first Presidency of the Council of the EU. This was said at the ceremony for taking office by Lilyana Pavlova, who from today will be heading the Ministry for the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU 2018. She expressed her expectation that in the following months the relevant issues will be discussed in dialogue and unity.

I believe that in the spirit of continuity we will carry on to work together with Ms Slateva as until now. The work goes ahead as of today. We have a well-functioning National Centre and a very clear action plan.

At the ceremony Denica Slateva gave Pavlova five folders including information on what has been done until now and an action plan for the remaining months. According to Pavlova, Deputy Prime Minister Slateva has taken the necessary actions for Bulgaria to have a good preparation for the Presidency of the Council of the EU.
