JENS STOLTENBERG: I AM CONVINCED THAT NATO CAN CONTINUE TO RELY ON BORISSOV IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF OUR COMMON TASKS

17.05.2017

The NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg congratulated Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on his third prime-ministerial term in office and wished him thorough success in his new responsibilities.

“You enter into office at a moment when the Alliance is faced with important challenges, in response to which we must preserve it strong, at the same time stabilizing our Eastern and Southern neighborhoods and maintaining a solid transatlantic relationship,” he writes in his congratulatory address to the Bulgarian Prime Minister.

Stoltenberg underlines that the Bulgarian contribution to the common NATO efforts and operations is highly appreciated. “I am convinced that this will continue during your term in office and that the Alliance can continue to rely on your personal support in the implementation of our common tasks,” notes the NATO Secretary General. In conclusion, Stoltenberg adds that he expects to welcome Prime Minister Borissov in Brussels later this month.
