Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov attended the Chinese Investment Forum “16+1” in Prague, where he presented the advantages of Bulgaria in front of a delegation of investors and institutional representatives from China. The forum gathers the countries from Central and Eastern Europe with China with the aim of strengthening and establishing a more dynamic dialogue, a more intensive and a bigger scale development of the trade and economic relations between the two regions.

Valeri Simeonov presented Bulgaria as a state, which possesses the key factors necessary for the development of successful business and investment projects: financial and macroeconomic stability, a favorable tax regime, predictable and stable rules for the business, as well as highly qualified experts. The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the rapid development of the relations between our country and China – for ten years the Bulgarian export to the Asian state has increased six times, which makes it the second most important trading partner outside the European Union. Bulgaria sees the perspective in an even more intensive development of the investment process between the two countries, whereby it expects that the realized Chinese investments in sectors such as telecommunications and agriculture will be expanded towards the sectors of logistics and transport, machinery, outsourcing, information technologies, etc.
